Katahdin via the AT with Andrew. Great day in BSP.
Left Andrew's at 4:15, took about 3 hours to get to Abol Bridge, the drive was a bit slow because of dense fog.
It was 1 degree C when we started out, warmed up pretty quickly once we got moving. Made good pace for the most part, but the water was high and cold at the stream crossings so those took a some time.
Took just over 2 hours to get the 15k in to Katahdin Stream Campground. Made decent time on the ascent, (2:15). The weather was amazing and it got warmer as we got higher.
Farted around above the treeline for a bit and decided not to descend to Chimney Pond and climb back out (Andrew's knee was a bit tender). The descent via Hunt was slow. (about 2:30), which made me happy we didn't go to Chimney Pond.
Quickly got on to the Blueberry Ledges trail and Andrew picked up the pace. I was getting tired (because of the onset of a cold) and we made good time back to the car.
