Pretty late run, started about 8:50, because I wanted to skip out on the 95 degree day and just hang out after work. Grocery shopped, started laundry, and played runescape with Lucas. Kept the run easy and did 8 strides. Left achilles was tight/sore to start the way it has been lately but it got a lot better through the run.

I started listening to a great 80,000 hours podcast today interviewing A.J. Jacobs (year of living biblically author). So much good food for thought, but the best idea was about embracing the boring or unpleasant parts of things you love. The example given was 2 artists who worked for 24 YEARS to have a particular art collection of theirs displayed in a major park. When they were asked if all that work bothered them or if they got sick of it, they said no because they saw it as part of their artistic process, implying/explaining (I forget exactly) that their work had to include dealing with this red tape and logistics for it to be complete and it only made it more meaningful.

I found this super inspiring. I think I'm good at doing this when it comes to running but not great in most other aspects of my life, so I'm going to try to keep this in mind.
