20 minutes easy, 40 minute tempo turning around at 20 minutes, and then 20 minute cooldown. Distance here is based on mapping the run out afterward, and then taking a little off.

Pretty good effort today. The first half of the tempo was hard to judge because it was primarily uphill and my watch was going bananas, but my heart rate was around 165 which was where I wanted it. The shoes were comfortable and I think I'll do all my slower tempo work in these. I was able to close the tempo pretty well, especially thanks to the downhill, and felt strong all the way through. I don't think I'll plan to do more than 50 minutes of tempo any time soon, but 40 minutes was very reasonable at this level of effort. I'll probably do a 1-2 more like this before Mystic.

The watch was all over the place today. At the end of my warmup it had be at 8 minute pace when I was previously running low 7s, and the first 20 minutes of the cooldown it ranged from 7:15 to 8:00 pace. I stopped for about a minute before turning around to reset the GPS connection. It was then giving me pretty reasonable paces, around 5:55 until the end when it said, I believe accurately, that I sped up a bit. On the cooldown however, it had me at 5:54 average. Not sure what was happening here.
