My initial plan was to run 8 pace for the first couple and then whittle my way down, when I saw that my first mile was a shade faster than that, I adjusted my plan to not have any 8:xx miles. Successful.

It's so weird... I was working really hard, but I didn't feel really awful. Not used to that. Felt good and strong. Trust the effort. Wise words.
