o fug ya, great run! Pace estimated, probably conservative. Was only planning on doing 10 but I guess my visual estimation skills when reading maps are lacking. I say great run because I was anticipating a BAD run... was WAY hot when I started and really just thought I'd have to slog my way through to survive. I started in conservation mode, running somewhere in the 7:15-20 pace range (based on a section mapped beforehand) for the first 3-4 miles. Then somewhere around 30, I just started feeling good and cruising! Combination of temp dropping (if ever so slightly), catching occasional breezes, getting used to the heat, and thinking I was closer to finishing than I was haha. The last two miles, according to mile markers, were supposedly sub 13, which would be great in these trails and I'm inclined to believe it because last week those markers told me I was going 7:40 pace out and 7:20 pace back. (At the time I assumed they were long but it was the really wet day so I think it was just the huge wet spots slowing me down... single track path, after all).

Anyway that's enough diary for a Tuesday run. The plan was 70 today 85 tomorrow, but maybe now I'll just do 80 tomorrow too. I'll see, should be even hotter then.

Oh, and power line stretch is the leading tempo/long interval candidate. Pumped about that.
