Here it is - the final, longest distance run to date. Next up is the Half. Went out with the group from Asbury, but wound up running the whole thing alone and I was fine with it. It was actually pretty pleasant and not at all as horrible as I may have aniticipated at the beginning of this training program. I think its safe to say I have finally conquered my fear of long distances. they really arent all that bad, just time consuming. But I'm actually falling in love with getting up super duper early and getting the runs over with. Its so easy for me to get out of bed and go I can believe it!

Anyway, I warmed up the first mile without walking, then I switched over to the run 3, walk 1 stratedgy. Again, it worked out more than perfect for me. Only stopped to poop once, to stretch my knee out once and a second potty break. I brought two fuel belt bottles of pure gatorade, consumed 1 gu pak and 1 pak of chomps. The chomps went down at mile 4, and the gu went down at mile 7 or 8. And that was it. I didnt feel like I bonked ever and in fact was able to pick up the pace for the last mile. New pain: Right side - front of hip, pretty strong the last mile, definitely tender after the run, all the way into the night. ouch! Glad I am able to rest it up now.

We're into the homestretch now - I KNOW I can rock this race!!! Projected finish time is now 2:45:00 TOPS
