Notes
I was all packed to go use the LI-COR dreadmill, but woke up and saw the temp was 12F and thought I can do a real run. Turned out to be a a good decision.
The key feature of this run was that there had been zero plowing of the trail below the dam, so there was 1/8 mile of drifted snow that varied from 6 to 15 inches deep. In many places i had no idea where the trail was. As for hopping through it in Vibrams, it didn't feel bad. Reminded me a bit of cross country skiing. Feet got more chilly than when running on a flat surface. All in all, it was fun, but not fun enough to do again on the return trip. Instead, I ran down the sidewalk along Normal, then turned south on the road that rejoined the trail. I don't think it changed the distance significantly.
