I was feeling pretty good going into this race, but it didn't turn out as good as last year. On reflection, it's not surprising. My miles from Jan. 1 2011 to race were 448; Jan 1 this year to this race, 235. Also, it was warmer this year. I don't feel too bad about it. I probably went out too fast. Light on my feet and easily passing a lot of people in the first four miles. The only timer I heard was at the 2 mile marker, and it was 15:20, or a 7:40 pace. That sounded good, but was unrealistic, and by mile 7 I knew the error of my ways. Pushed through to the end, but obviously a lot slower. One of my hardest races to date.
Joined today by Liukang, Jiahong, Israel, Kayla, Dave J (who ran 7 miles prior to the race). Also met Liukang's wife and Ying's husband. Saw Sue W after the race; she said she did really badly.
