Notes

Health

After recovering from the broken toe, everything's been pretty smooth. Of course, there were some minor pains along the way. Over-fatigued a few times as well.

Miles

I had hoped to get to 50 miles for a week, that never happened. I was consistently around 40 with 44 as my highest. I also never ran every day in a week. Still happy with my consistency and not pushing myself to injury. Also, I think it would be better to train by hours instead of miles.

Goal 1 - Win 1 race

Goal accomplished. I may have needed extreme circumstances to do it but I did it.

Goal 2 - Qualify for Army 10 Miler

I never gave this one a shot as I needed a fast time, which meant a road race and I still haven't done one. Partly scared to try and partly happy to just focus on what I want to race.

Summer

This spring was a good stepping stone, hopefully with many more higher steps to come. I've got it in my head to sign up for the local marathon in Columbia that happens on Labor Day.

Pros: It would motivate me to get miles in this summer and embrace the heat. It's also a marathon that I could possibly win depending on who shows up.

Cons: It would ruin any other September racing plans, maybe even further into the fall. Or it might ruin my whole year if I push myself too hard.
