Notes
2019 started off strong, I literally did a long run on January 1st, hit 60+ miles early & regularly, and had several strong spring races. I probably made some poor decisions after the spring that led to injury and then more stomach problems in the fall. Both of those issues follow me into 2020, though much less prevalent.
I did keep my mileage good enough while injured (whether that was a good idea or not is a separate question) and that led to over 2300 miles, most since 2016. I also could rarely do full workouts or long runs over the summer and fall (I did only 2 long runs between April and October! I did 9 in the first 3 months of the year, though I did forget that I did 2 in 3 days in March:).
It was an optimistic December though as I got over 200miles in a month finally (first time since the achilles injury), my workouts have been longer, and long runs have been occurring again.
My 2020 spring goals are basically to recreate 2019 spring. I think it's possible.
Then, and I'm not sure how much I want to base my next few months of training on this, I'm going back to the marathon. Retro convinced me to sign up for Grandma's and Drew is joining us. Let's hope we all stay healthy and throw in some long runs here and there.
