Ames

Notes

I think I mentioned this route was closed but let me go into more detail for all 1 or 2 of you. I worked in Ames the summer before freshmen year at Luther and I basically ran at 2 places: Either the XC course or this gravel path through town that was well shaded. The latter was only a couple miles long but it was much needed and one of the main routes I was looking forward to running again as Naomi lives very close to it.

It had a closed sign in July and more of it was closed in August. Now my worries have been confirmed: the city has paved it. Or most likely paved all of it but I couldn't go further than a 1/2 mile due to some downed trees. Assuming I can run on it again, it will still be a nice path, but also still lame and seemingly mean timing.

Anywho, a slow rainy run that wasn't actually super slow. I felt better than I figured and maybe should have gone more than the prescribed 5miles.

Rebel.

Thanks for clearing that up. It's a saaad day when gravel becomes pavement. You should ask the city council to change it back to gravel.
