Notes
Lots of people in this race and I was on the outside. I got into pretty good position but the pace was fast. Held on for 800m (~2:13 maybe) then started to give in to the effort. I don't really remember what was going on in my head or body but must have slowed down quite a bit. A slightly better kick this time but not much. Hit a few seconds better than last week (though Drew would say the 300m conversion negates this).
Not too thrilled for more mile races even if I can drop 3 seconds every race. Afterward, I just wanted to say 'screw the spikes, half-tights, and mid-distance races' and go back to being a long-distance runner. However, I'm too afraid to try to hit distance pr's when I can barely handle sub 4:40 pace. Not sure what I'll be doing next weekend, probably step up to the plate again and see what happens after 3 strikeouts.
