I'd been eying up this park near Morgan Creek that looked like it had really good grass and today I sought to test out its barefoot capabilities. I arrived and the grass was certainly better than elsewhere. There was even some dashed lines clearly marking a XC course. But the ground was very hard and often bumpy and did not make for an enjoyable run. Maybe my legs were too tired and maybe the lack of rain didn't help but I barely made it 2 miles before thinking about putting shoes on. Instead, I kept to 1 decent stretch and counted my 6 strides in my mileage.
