Notes

I could have guessed how this race was going to play out. Drew took the pace out quick and a few more guys encouraged it. I laid off my mile pace and was on my own. One other guy was near me and drafted off me in the middle laps, but then I dropped him again. I basically ran my own pace and never got too into the race. I spent a good amount of my time watching the leaders and another good amount watching the spectators. Still did well with fairly even splits and closed well enough for not having anyone to chase.

Focus Shift: I think I've fallen too far into Drew's training plan. It clearly works for him but I've always gotten better throughout a season while doing workouts and supplemental training. Even with my limited miles, I think I've got a pretty solid strength and aerobic base. So I think I'll do some emergency workouts before my last indoor race in 2 weeks and then try to get on a training plan for outdoor.
