--- Pretty consistent, yet uncomfortable, pace this morning on heavy legs while dodging lots of people, dogs and cars with morning school(s) chaos. Suppressed a certain dry-heave late. So sleepy tired. Need more rest. ---

Woke up tired with sore legs. My eyes hurt again, even before I put on my contacts. Another night of not going to sleep early enough. Had a good stretch after my normal morning routine, feeling much better. Would be running later than I planned but just dicked around too much. Got my Garmin synced up with China and Is ready to go.

Started out slow. Legs just didn’t feel good. Really heavy and tired. Turned left on Normal and was at 9:00-plus pace for that stretch for what seemed to be a long time. Didn’t think I’d be that slow for such a long time. Got up to Rosebud Lane and started to feel better when I took the left there. Got through there, dodging some cars. Crossed the busy intersection on Parks. Got down the hill and took a left on University. Opened it up a little bit, hitting the first mile in 8:28. Was surprised I caught up that much from the slow start. Picked it up even more. A little later I was thinking to myself what are you doing? You aren’t even half way through yet! Ran the final 0.17 miles in 1:24 (8:17 pace). The first 1.17-mile Rosebud was in 9:52 (8:26 pace).

Kept right on going. Got even busier on the second loop with two schools within a half hour or so of starting and lots of people walking and driving there. Also passed a gardener on Lowell that I had to dodge. Took the left on Normal Ave. and ran into my usual struggles there. But the busyness kept me focused. Was at about 12:45 (8:30 pace) at 1.5 miles. Took the left on Parks. Just wanted to get past the school where it would be easier the rest of the way. Got back down to University, picking it up as always. Still was dodging cars and people on Parks before that. Hit the 2-mile mark in 17:00 following an 8:32. Was pretty happy about that at the time. Crossed Olive Ave., but had to be creative as there were cars waiting to go right on University and cars pulling right onto Olive from Olive. Ducked behind a truck getting on University, let another truck go by turning right on University and sprinted across. Picked it up right after, and was at 8:30 for the first mile of the second loop. Ended up running the 1.04-mile Parks in 8:51 (8:31 pace).

Kept right on going to Normal and back, once again dodging the gardener. Kind of gave him a “sorry” face but get the fuck out of my way. Dodged some walkers as well. Went the 0.23 miles out in 1:57 (8:27 pace). Turned back and immediately started to pick it up, seeing 7:35 pace when I looked down. Slowed down after, running out into the road even though there were cars going both ways, because the gardener and his partner in crime were blocking the sidewalk with a lawnmower and their truck door wide open. Got back onto the sidewalk to vaguely see a 2.5-mile split of 21:14 (8:30 pace). Thought a dry-heave was going to come during this part just from past runs and how I felt, but it never came as I finished back in 1:51 (8:02 pace). So out in 1:56 and back in 1:51, 0.46 miles in 3:47.45 (8:14 pace).

Altogether it was 2.66 miles in 22:31 (8:28 pace). Didn’t feel comfortable, but it seemed somewhat consistent. Didn’t feel the best so happy to get it in. So sleepy tired. I need to take advantage of tomorrow’s planned off day and get through a long workday to be ready for Friday.
