Notes

Attempting double long runs this weekend. Got myself suitably worked up for this, but then realized it was just a slowish long run, so pretty uneventful. Tomorrow is the point, not today. That being said, I was still on guard and though there were a couple opportunities to start rolling, I held back and kept things in check. Conditions were pretty favourable too. Got out early and it was never that warm. 137 Avg. HR is music to my ears.

I was also doing this out in Hudson around Andy's parents' place and so I made a smaller loop and used it to practice with Skratch in the 7th and 13th mile. As always, it makes a world of difference. Even just hydrating would be great on some of my midweek lunch runs, but fountains are hard to find these days.

Of note: This run contained 1200ft of climbing (per Strava). Looks like I'm headed to 5000m for the month, which is cool. Two years ago that much elevation would have knocked my flat on my behind. Right now I barely notice it. Turns out all that standard advice is legit. Who knew?
