68F 97%H 67DP, The Albany Half Marathon. Tornado warnings the preceding evening, with all programming on all TV stations stopped and a message saying "Take cover now!" The people who ran the full got it much worse than the halfers. What a downpour they had to endure! Temperature kept dropping during the run.
I had wanted to try to hold a pace of 9:30, but there was no way. I should have been about 15 seconds faster in the first mile, but got stuck behind people. Those inclines and declines in the subdivisions finally got to me around mile 9. I just didn't have any strength in the legs. I was number 2049.
Stephen Mallory rode down with me. I saw Terri, Nubia and one other. Tim Milam also ran the half. There were a lot of people from GRC down there.
