Notes

74F, Treadmill at Workout Anytime. Doing 3wu+3(2HMPw800r)+3cd = 13.5 miles with footpod calibrated to 1000. Garmin registered 14.48 miles instead of 14.00 miles. I'll use this tomorrow to try to compute a new calibrating value. The HMP intervals were all done at 6.1 mph = 9:50 mpm. Should have been 9:40, but 12 sec heat adjustment makes it ok.

Interestingly I didn't use the earphones for the first interval, and it seems that I was quite comfortable at what turned out to be a cadence of 170/172. After I stopped the treadmill (since the session expires after an hour) and restarted it for the next two intervals I just didn't feel comfortable with that low a cadence and the earphones were used with a 178 metronome beat = 180 cadence which felt fine. This seems odd.

Did I like a slower cadence and longer stride until I got a bit tired and then preferred a faster cadence and shorter stride? In that case maybe I would have been better off with the faster cadence all along. But I did try it during the first interval and it just felt a bit fast. Perhaps I should have stuck with it anyway, since I know that it starts feeling natural after about a mile.
