Tune-Up. Short jog of 2.39 miles in 20:35. Finished things up with 7:XX minutes of drills and striders. Skipping, high-knee skipping, high knees, and bounding. Traded last jog interval for a short walk interval. Striders all right around 5:00 except for third one when I never found the rhythm.

Forecast for start time tomorrow is sunny, mid 60s, and little wind. May be on the humid side. Working on keeping this in perspective. Racing few weeks too early into training program, so need to treat this as a workout or training run. Thinking of it as my "Sacrifice The Gift Race". Packet pick up tonight. Race promotion continues on evening news without word on (1) is the flood gate closed on Main Street blocking the course? and (2) is the river over Water Street? Is still rising, but not as much or as fast as predicted earlier in week. Crest is Saturday afternoon.

Course favorable for faster runners with large field full of "social" racers. About 200 flat meters to start. Expect to be crowded. Next 800 meters is mostly climbing. Should drop all the "posers" and leave maybe 10-12 of us (at most) free to do our thing. Finish mile one with a downhill to get up to speed, then follow with long flat to rolling stretch. Be ready to coast.
