Notes

Another rainy day TM workout. Start with progressive 20:00 minute warm-up with deck at 1.5%. Last 4:00 minutes at 8.0 mph. Workout is 5.0 mile cut-down tempo at HMP. Deck at 1.0%, starting at 7:10 and plan to work to 6:46 for last half mile. Rolling through until about 1.70 mile when calf locks up. Coast another 0.05, then stop and roll it out (calf and piriformis). Back on and start up again...not going to work. Well, that sucked.

Go ahead and get my upper-body lift (arms) in with bike intervals. Even getting damn oblique cramps on and off during lift. Went ahead and did another 0.75 mile cool-down jog. Not 100%, but manageable (even at faster speeds) as long as I made sure to maintain my forward lean from the hips.

Took a break, got something to eat, and worked some on my back, prirformis, and calf. Warmed up again with a brief bike ride, then back for another 15:00 minutes on the TM. Worked on upper-body positioning at faster speeds to help lower impact. There is a "sweet spot". However, get off center or start to slouch ever-so-slightly and the dagger jams into my calf again. Had been rolling pretty smoothly for 3:00-4:00 minutes at 6.8 mph and felt like I could continue on without much stress. Was at that point that I figured 15:00 minutes would be a good spot to call it a day.
