Notes

Had a tentative plan, weather permitting, to meet up with HOF-JT for an 80:00 to 90:00 minute long run. Was looking like we may actually steal one, but less than an hour before "go" time, here came the thunder, lightning, sleet, and freezing rain. Move on to Plan B. Objective this morning will be to get on The Beast, do something productive that I can build on, then get off before it chews me up again. Set and leave the deck at 1.5%.

Warm-Up = 2.56 miles in 20:00. First 12:30 at 8:00 m/m, then last 7:30 at 7:30.

Workout = Alternating Tempo Run. 400s (0.25) at MP (6:59) at start, finish, and in between. Alternating with 6 x 800 (0.50) at 15K/10K. 800s at 6:36 / 6:31 / 6:27 / and last three at 6:23. Ended up being a good call on the paces. Cardio has not taken a significant hit with the down time and losses seem to be coming back right on schedule.

Stretch out after tempo, then Down = 2.0 miles in 15:00 minutes. 7:30s felt like a walk. Short roll-out afterward.

Keep inching closer on pulling the trigger and making a run at a National Class HM time late in the year. Think I can get my engine there, just iffy on if I can keep upright with all parts of this 52/53 year old frame in working order. Expecting lots of life-stuff changes in next 6-12 months and need a worthwhile distraction.
