Sunday CBEM Run. CBEM originals only this morning. Decent weather for 1/4; much better than 1/3 and better than the forecast. Runners out thick this a.m. after many missed Saturday due to rain.

Start with 4.02 miles of jogging and mud dancing as creek must have come up over the trail yesterday. Averaged 7:57 pace. Extended the drill set an extra couple of minutes. Wind starting to pick up and temperature has dropped a degree or two. Found a penny.

Good thing about not training for anything is that on any given day, you can do whatever floats your boat. Have got in a couple of real nice tempo runs this week, so might as well do some faster stuff. Hammer coming off a race on Thursday and needing to keep it conservative, so we will be running together. Plan is 4 x 1200 and 1 x 2000 at (my) 10K effort. Jog intervals of 400 and will be flipping directions a couple of times to mix up the headwind/tailwind.

Average paces = 6:20 / 6:07 / 6:11 / 6:10 and 6:14 for the 2000. Started off right, but took #2 down too much too quick. Running together, we got to blame each other for making it a PPPC (pace pushing pissing contest). Back under control for last two 1200s and only slowed down a couple of ticks. Thinking the aggressive 1200s might make the 2000 interesting. They did, and the 2000 was pretty hard, but ran it under control and pretty much held serve with the pace.

Very easy cool down of 2.73 miles at 8:26 average pace. Very good weekend workout to cap off a good week of workouts. About 50 miles with lots of controlled quality and do not feel beat up.
