Temp 64 Winds Calm.

Long Day. Plan for today started to evolve yesterday evening and through this morning. Maybe on the ambitious side, but confident (1) that if fully engaged mentally, physical will be fine, and (2) if need to suddenly say "when", will not hesitate to say "when".

Short dynamic stretch out, then over to the high school to start with about 10:00 minutes of walking. Fell into a copper mine and had to drop two hands full of pennies off at the car before heading out. Take (mostly) the trail over to the civic center while getting in sync with 3:00/3:00 run/walk intervals. Civic center back to the park, then hilly route over to the track averaging about 9:00 minute miles jogging full-time now. Walk a lap on the track to prepare for 3 x 1200 (three laps in lanes 7/8) @ an AT effort with 400 jog intervals.

1) Average 7:45 dipping toes in the water.

2) Average 7:17 with some surging on the straights. Tad too fast on a couple of turns. Will need to check down on last one.

3) Average 7:04 with better control. Easier effort = faster pace. Muscle fatigue made effort deceptive, but cardio reading (similar to what a needy-fat-ass-tool feels while bending over to pick up thirty-five cents eight miles into a walk) indicated third rep was as fast or faster than number two.

All was well and finished out remainder of 90:00 minute "run" with some more jogging. Averaged 9:10 even with watch running during all the walk intervals. Another 45:00 minutes of walking for about 2.5 hours total on my feet. An even 100 pennies, two dimes, and three nickels.

CBEGM shook off the dust and roared again yesterday. Hope the comp will be looking down a double-barrel come the fall.
