Temp 72 Winds Calm. Humidity 88% Dew Point 68°.

Easy 50:00 Minutes. Feeling that same tightness (knot) in right calf intermittently start to finish. Who knew that sitting around the house with a head cold, drinking OJ, and watching YouTube videos on an iPhone was more inductive to a calf strain than running 40+ miles a week??

Not worth forcing it. Thinking I'll forget about racing on 9/22, sit out for about a week, and maybe spend a little more time in the gym. Have been considering for some time now that it might be fun to take a few months, log a bunch of easy/tempo miles, and instead of track intervals, jump in a 5K every 2-4 weeks for my speed workouts. Depending on the rest of the field, would have to avoid being a dumbass and chasing kids, or go just hard enough to win overall. Would not be posting best of times, but hell, I'll be 58 years old in a couple of weeks, so running 20:00 - 22:00 minute 5Ks would not necessarily make me look like a washed up old man.
