True Recovery Run, in effort and duration. Almost a no effort run in prep for tomorrow morning's modified speed session. Dark morning without the moon. Upper left calf sore, but that had pretty much worked its way out by end of run. Upper right quad fatigued early. Can stand to do without that when trying to run fast 24 hours from now. Nose bled again in dry air. Met up with ass in loud white truck in Williams Addition. We're the only two in sight or sound on the road, I'm moving at a snail's pace to boot, but he feels the need to see how close he can get without clipping me with his mirror.

Talked on phone this weekend to RD for 10/24 run in Corning. Asked if there was a course map online or anywhere I could check out. Said didn't have anything like that or anything he could send me (Oh, boy). Said him and other runners knew course and run it all the time. Knows it, but hard to describe (Goody, its getting better). Described first half mile, but then said it started to twist and turn through residential areas. Then said it went by radio station, which would be at about the half way point. After that, pretty easy path to follow. I lived there for over 10 years as a kid, so at least I'm not going to get lost if I make a wrong turn.

Other notes: Said course was almost all flat, except for hill on Harb Street (Dude, that ain't a hill, trust me). Said oldest race in NE AR, over 25 years (all this time and still there's not a map?). Typically draws 75-100 runners (would have to be at least a handfull of fast folk in a field of that size). Know from reading local paper last year that Joseph Pearce from Jonesboro won in 2008 with something around 18 +/-. He broke his own course record from when he won the previous year in 2007. He'll be in the 30-34 AG. Over 25 years of racing on a flat course and no one has cracked 17:30???
