Much, much better. Started on track this week to establish even effort. Got a little excited at start and was closed to (7-mile) race pace after 800 meters. Eased a bit, ran another mile to smooth things out, then rechecked Garmin. Now running comfortably at 7:22 pace. No more looking at Garmin, now switch to maintaining this on feel. Ran two more laps, then hit the streets and uneven terrain for about 2.25 miles. Finished it off with couple of laps on track.

Mile 1 at 7:21 due to fast start. 7:24 with mix of track and hills. Next two miles over-the-road at 7:32 and 7:31. Finished a little too fast at 7:16. Coming back to track was mostly downhill. Another runner on inside lane and I think I was kind of matching his pace without thinking. Checked graph after run and I had hit a sub-7 pace briefly. Did notice it and had slowed down some for last 400 meters.

Could I have run this for an hour? Yes. Provided I hadn't sped up in the 5th mile. I think; however, if it had been an actual race, the speed up would not have happen until the last mile. I kept wanting to speed up when I did today because the 5th mile was the last.

Ave. HR drift steady. Miles 2-3, 3-4, and 4-5 all 3 bpm.
