Temp 30 Winds Calm.
Long Run. Brisk morning. Start with easy jogging, ending at City Park. Stretch and hit a couple of striders. 3.87 miles total in 34:02.
Next up is 2 x 2 Miles w/ 4:00 Minute Jog Intervals. Plan is 6:30 / 6:20-25 / 6:15 / Whatever. Nothing cheap about first two miles. Hit Oak Street hill twice, once in each direction, and have two other short steep climbs on Rolling Fields and East Lane. Go 6:30 / 6:27. Not easy. Back in City Park for last two. Mostly flat with a few small rollers. Go 6:18 / 6:21. Legs just do not have the deep down fire this morning. Second interval workout, second long run, and a race in the past seven days...go figure.
Wrap the day up with 4.21 miles in 36:34. On auto-pilot at this point.
Disappointed could not execute workout at target paces, but have to keep it in perspective and not lose confidence week before the 10K. Just a training run. Work is in, fitness is there. Weather looking favorable. Course is a bear, but should be fine if I'm sharp and can hit it with fresh legs. Ought to be able to pull that part off.
