Notes

Temp 76 Winds Calm. Humidity 83% Dew Point 71°.

Had some cloud cover and a cool breeze about an hour before the race. Sun got through a little after 7:30 a.m. and things got real nasty, real quick. Little over 50 runners this year. Few 20-somethings might be in the mix. Only know one of them (Stephen Schott).

Little to report other than it was not my day. Hills were frying my legs with each one taking a bigger toll than the previous. By the time we went through the two mile mark, the heat and humidity had fried my ass. Was not able to clear the acid from my muscles this morning and lost all fire power on back end of course. Could not feel my left quad after crossing finish line and nearly tipped over. Bit lightheaded and dizzy for about thirty minutes after race.

Garmin splits were 6:28 / 6:50 / 6:44 / 0:34 (6:30). Ran in 4th/5th OA position with SS first 2+ miles as he was using me to help with his pacing to avoid going out too fast. He went on to go headhunting after the last hill on West End Blvd. and was able to chase down the 3rd place runner.

5th OA and 1st in 50-59. Only scrap of redemption was the fact that top four runners were all in 20-24 AG. And..."No Roger, I do not know how many runners were in our age group, what their names were, and what their times were..."
