Lunatics long run with speed work today. We did a warm up and then the goal was 2 mi at a tempo pace, 20 - 40 sec. faster than marathon pace, 2 min jog, and then repeat. I hit those targets just fine being closer to the 40 sec end. Then ran 10 easy miles grouped with Fast Dan and Andy that are both running St. Louis. Then we were to run 3 miles at tempo again but at about 20 sec faster than marathon pace. Then we ran a cool down. I was actually looking forward to this tough long run workout today. Maybe that is why I couldn't sleep last night? This workout went really well. I feel almost like I should be running a spring marathon. I don't have any major races planned until late April 24 and St. Louis is 2 weeks before so could work. I don't really plan to race the 100K on April 24 either. I would kind of like to run St. Louis sometime so will think about it.
