Notes

Within minutes I was ready and out the door for this run. First I ran along the 91 freeway turning left at the Green River Golf Club which was closed to Christmas Day. At mile 5 the trail started with a strong uphill. I walked all the uphills.

For the next 3 miles I knew the trail very well because I've ran it many times. However, instead of making a right I made a left in order to do a loop than going back to the Golf course and that part of the trail I didn't know.

Anyhow, I checked the way before I left and remembered going left, then left, then right and right again. It turned out that such kind of direction isn't the best one because I start doubting if I am still on the right trail.

Worst, I had about an hour left of daylight and the last thing I wanted to be stuck in that wilderness at night with all its wild animals, including the moutain lion, which I once already have seen on a run at daylight. I kept using common sense, followed my directions and sure enough at mile 11.5 I saw the houses I am supposed to run by after the trail. I was really happy but a little bit exchausted from the nervousness so I called Linda and asked her to pick me up.

At least I finished the trail portion and hit paved street again. I simply kept running and at mile 13.5 Linda met me with the car to pick me up. By then I was fresh again and could have finished it but I got in the car and took a drive home.
