Generally encouraging run. My minimum hope for today was to get an hour in without the wheels falling off. As the day went on and I kept thinking about my workout, my hopes got raised that I'd be able to do a legit 12-14mi workout. After a 1.5mi warm up I went right into a fartlek. I had no clue how it would feel and just decided to go with the flow. Ended up hitting the first mile in 6:02 and the second in 5:58. Those did not feel nearly as easy as they would have two weeks ago. So I backed it down after 2mi and spent just under 2mi at an easy pace before going back into some point-to-point fartleks for the rest of the run. Finished with a 1mi cool down.

Encouraged by the fact that I was able to do this workout. A little bit discouraged by my rustiness. 6flat pace felt harder than I would have liked. Part of that may have been the slightly warmer afternoon and the strong wind. But it was probably more the fact that I haven't done much in a week and a half. Fitness should come back really quickly as long as I am consistent. Holding the rest of this week loosely. I may get some sort of abbreviated long run in but that would probably be it as far as legit workouts are concerned.
