Notes

Workout today. Overcast, breezy, and temps in the low 50s with high humidity and STILL RUNNIN IN DEM NEW BALANCE TRAIL MINIMUS. Did a 15 minute warm-up into a 5x5 min/2min jog fartlek session. Route was my normal 1.1 mile, mostly-grass, mostly-flat, but also having some tight turns and roots loop. I would run a loop, u-turn, and then do it again backwards, and so on. I decided to do a 15 minute warm-up this time instead of the usual 10, because I had the time to invest a little more. I've been noticing on my easy days that it often takes more than 1 mile before I start loosening up. So I have to make the time for longer warm-ups. My first mile of my warm-up was 8:10!

I didn't check any paces for my first two reps, but my third rep was 0.86 miles (which is 5:49/mile pace), and my fourth and fifth rep were both 0.88 miles (5:41/mile). Felt super strong today and honestly could've done at least one or two more at that pace, but that's ok because this isn't a race or 100% effort session. Felt smooth and recovered decently quick, to where the cooldown was enjoyable, unlike any cooldown I ever did in college. Also, the 2 min jog recovery felt like a million years, because almost all of my workouts over the last year have either had no recovery or 1 min jog recovery. 2 minutes felt like forever! Gonna take a day off from my exercises today, minus my one knee-strengthening exercise.
