Started out pretty well, but seemed to slip on the roots even though it wasn't wet. Not sure these trail shoes are made for our kinds of trails... Fell three times! First on the way out, before the big climb to the ridge trail, second time was just before crossing Ballaine on the way back, and the third was a roll-type fall just before Dalton Trail (less than a mile to go!!). So, given all that, the fact that I was 1:25 slower than last year is ok. I was fourth female but a lot of the fast regulars (Anna, Annie, Jane) weren't there tonight.
