Nearly Broke me...Two loops of Bradbury Mountain or was it a hill? Through the first mile i was around 7 or 8th place, stayed in control and relaxed and just let things flow. By mile 2 i moved up to about 6th place and this is where the first climb started. About 2.5-3miles In I decided that it was better to start walking and conserve energy best i could rather than trying to keep running up the steep stairs and dirt trail. I think the real climb was only about .3 miles long, but it still was pretty brutal. After a quick descend we came back to the top nearly via a wide trail and made our way down quickly as you can see from mile splits between miles 4 and 5. That was a lot of fun going back and forth. The second loop i knew basically what to expect, but didn't know how my legs were going to hold up. Mile 6 came and went and mile 7, the final climb up the summit trail came. Again walked it, and found myself able to recover down the nice descend before the final short climb to the final descend. This was mile marker 7, and finally i was dropped by the guy who i basically paced off the entire race. He knew the trails well, especially this section, and as we made our way quickly down to the base, he just kept on flying leaving me in the dust. Defiantly a weak point for me, the down hill running. He gained about 14 seconds on me by the time we finished.

The 12 miler, the Bruiser, supposedly is easier (elevation wise), but has tons more switch backs and such. Can't wait!
