1st overall, 11 laps. Each lap was about 2.95 miles. Missed the cut off for lap 12 by like 15 seconds or so. As you can see from my splits I made a big push but it wasn’t great enough. Argued we started 2 mins later than bikes but didn’t win. Disappointed but a good goal for next time. Pleased with the overall effort and experience. There could have been better race communication with athletes but that is what it is. Fun to camp with friends. Need to bring ear plugs!

Lap 1 I was with Jen Britz for about 2ish miles. Than I slowly pulled away. That was a mistake to go out so fast. Each progressive lap,was significantly slower. Around the finish of lap 4 into 5 I heard free ice cream and immediately ran for the ice cream truck. What a treat to have and ran with it pretty easily. It was a waffle cone and 2 scoops of mint chocolate chip - my favorite!

Started walk breaks somewhere around lap 6, more and more walking steep uphills as I progressed.

Laps 7 through 10 I took a few minutes at my aid table sitting in the chair and eating and drinking. 2 to 3 mins max. A good place to make up some time for 2022 possibly.

Nutrition..Sipped in a bottle of tailwind before the start. Took my handheld the entire run. Tailwind through lap 5. Lap 3 I stopped refilled and kept going to a waffle in hand. Lap 6 stopped again..Got pallet fatigue by lap 6ish. Hard to take down Tailwind and waffles. Snacked on chips, blueberries, Took some Gatorade which was nice but wish it was ice cold. Would like to try coke/Pepsi and orange Gatorade. Need to figure out other ideas. Pickle juice?
