No High expectations for this event. After a 4hr drive down first thing this morning I figured my as well shoot for under 60min. Went out a little fast with the long blue line (Dirigo Team) but settled down a bit the second mile and finally found a groove the 3rd mile. Mile 4 i chased down a couple of guys and stuck with them for a mile or so, then the fell back at mile 4.5 up a steep little hill. The marsh at 5.25 was brutally windy, and someone caught me and we stuck together until about 7.5 or so when he dropped me. I sucked it up, looked at my watch at 2 to go and figured I still had a chance to break 60 minutes. Couldn't chase anyone down that last 4 miles but it was a solid event with excellent competition. Nice to have folks to race with! Time to start training seriously again. Treadmill finally came so speed work can start up again. 14th of 787 14th male of 360. 6 of 16 in 25-29 age group.
