I love long runs with workouts mixed in. Today planned long run included: first 5 miles easy, 4 miles easy to moderate, than the next 7 miles alternating between MP(6:35) and HMP(6:07) and 2 miles easy to finish off. Found myself feeling pretty good through the fist 9 even though it was warm in the gym. set out on the faster portion miles 9 through 16 and found that if i took the MP portion relaxed and a little bit of hilly effort 2-4% incline, the HMP felt a little easier. Needless to say i made it through 6 miles of this before i took the first half of mile 7 at 7min pace and the second half at MP. Not disappointed. Pleased because I've never tired anything like this.
