Notes

Temp 26, DP 24, wind from west. Did 8x"800" (between far post by Cap Crescent and middle of 31st St intersection). Distance varied a bit each time - both because I had to dodge a car twice and because I was making a point to run past the stopping points at each side before pausing my watch, but I overshot by a different amount each time.

Used my foot pod to measure distance, but it seems to have dropped a few times - I just corrected all the intervals to 800m for consistency.

Got to the workout late due to vastly underestimating how much time it'd take to scrape ice off my car. Ended up with only a 2 mile warm-up and one half-assed stride.

This workout sucked - at least the first few reps. Not sure how much of it was not being warmed up, how much was being out of shape, how much was not liking these new Takumi Sens, and how much was just feeling lousy this morning. Oh well - they can't all be good.

Trailed a pack of Brent, Jenn, Beth, Cate, and some other guy. They were taking really short recoveries (under 2:00 instead of the recommended 2:30), which was fine with me - just a surprise at first since I didn't realize it, so got caught by surprise.

Splits were 3:09, 3:13, 3:01, 3:03, 2:58, 3:02, 3:00, 3:07 (I suspect the last was slower because I didn't have anyone to block the wind and I also overshot the finish). First two felt horrible, and then I felt better as I went. By the cooldown I was feeling pretty good.

This new pair of Takumi Sens felt really awkward - possibly because they were just a bit too big on my feet. They feel like they should be fast when I run easy in them, but then not good at all at speed. I think I may need to give up on this pair. (They also give really strange readings on my Stryd footpod)

Breathing was pretty good - Advair 250/50 and Qvar.

Breakfast was rice, hemp powder, berry and french toast GUs, and coconut stroopwafel. Sat well.
