Notes

Starting temp 50, DP 41; ending temp 53, DP 43. Wind of 10 MPH from NE, according to Garmin. Pollen of 3.1

Really nice weather - wore arm-warmers and gloves for the first time in a long time.

Parked in Georgetown and ran down to Hains Point, where I did the 2x5. Had to weave my way through an unannounced 5K, but that was the only hiccup (well...that and having to stop to fix my too-tight left shoe during the second warm-up mile).

The workout went pretty well - ran by feel, checking my HR to make sure I was being honest about marathon effort and not overly optimistic.

Splits were:

First 5 miles in 32:59 (6:36 pace - 6:37/6:28/6:43/6:35/6:36)

1 mile float in 7:38

Second 5 miles in 32:45 (6:33 pace - 6:34/6:36/6:35/6:29/6:31)

[I suspect that the 6:29 followed by a 6:43 are a Garmin error - perhaps lost the satellite right at the autolap?- - the effort felt the same for both miles, and those two average out to 6:36]

All felt good. I wasn't very tired at the end, and was worried I had miscounted miles and stopped the workout early, but that wasn't the case.

Breathing was good - Advair 250/50 and Qvar, plus one puff of rescue before start.

Breakfast was rice, hemp powder, Maurten gel, Smores Gu, and a berry Stroopwafel. Carried water but didn't really need it. Took the majority of an expresso GU during the 1 mile float.

Did my standard pre-marathon Chipotle on Friday.
