Notes
Temp of 34 and windy. First tempo back. The prescribed workout was 3 miles, 2 miles, 1 mile with 5:00 recovery; I had planned on doing 3 miles + 1 mile, but felt pretty good, so did 3+2. Was very tempted to do the final mile, but decided to be safe, since I had already done more than I planned.
Splits were: 19:37 (6:39/6:32/6:26) [extrapolating 2nd and 3rd mile, since hit watch late] and then 13:00 (6:35/6:25) [slowed down for second set per coach's instructions -- I think I slowed too much, as the second was just below tempo effort].
Felt great physically; mentally I got a bit tired, which I think is the result of a) not having done a full track workout in a month [did a baby one last week, but not at really tempo effort] and b) running with a group the whole time, including leading the entire time into the wind. But that will come back.
Did have some stomach issues at the end of the 2 mile. Nothing bad, but I need to be a bit better about breakfast -- I've gotten careless. Two puffs of inhaler 50 minutes before.
Followed with squats (3x8 at 115, 125, 135, 1x4 at 145) and good mornings (3x10 at 95).
