Starting temp 44, DP 43; ending temp 47, DP 46. Light rain at times; wind of 9 mph from east.
Parked at tennis center on Hains Point. I was going to do counter clockwise loops, but the southeast edge was flooded so I had to run back and forth instead.
Did the 2x5 miles at marathon effort with 1 mile float:
First 5 in 37:39 - 7:38/7:36/7:32/7:26/7:27 - 7:32 pace
float in 8:16
Second 5 in 37:15 - 7:29/7:35/7:30/7:22/7:19 - 7:27 pace
1:40:02 for the 13 miles total (7:42 pace)
1:31:23 for the 2x5+2 floats after (7:37)
1:23:10 for the 2x5+ float (7:34 pace)
Averaged 1:14:54 over the 10 miles (7:29 pace)
This felt good and controlled - I tried to focus on form rather than running hard.
L/R balance was 50.8/49.2 - wore big toe spacers.
Wore thin tights, rain jacket over sportsbra, waterproof gloves, and hat - felt comfortable for conditions
Breakfast was rice, cereal, UCAN and Maurten gels, and UCAN drink - sat well. Took 1/2 a Maurten gel during the float between reps.
