Notes
RUN portion of Shoreline Triathlon!! My second Triathlon!! The start of the run was uneventful. I just tried to start out hard and suffer through the noodle-leg syndrome, which was in full force. The first mile was pretty rough, as I sorted out my speed and effort level. The run started out on a paved path and then went through grass and onto a dirt trail through the woods. This wasn't too bad actually. Much better than staying on grass the whole way. Then out of the woods we were back on a road for the rest of the route. I quickly found a couple people who were going just a bit faster than me, so I upped the pace to catch up with them and stay with them (at about 1-1.5 miles into the 4 mile run). I then ran next to this one guy for almost the rest of the race. We paced each other very well. I lost him going into the last half-mile or so when someone much faster than us ran past us and he upped the pace to keep with him. I ended up running the 4 mile route at an average of 7:41 per mile. This is awesome. Much better than last time.
The results indicate that I am progressing into faster running, when tired. I still think I need to work on this, to get my race-pace a bit faster, but I am moving in the right direction. I am WAY down in the field in speed on the run.
