A hard run today, pushing towards threshold pace. Today I wanted to run fast, and wanted to push my HR up nice and high and try to keep my pace up while trying to not let my HR get out of control. I was able to get my HR up to a nice high level by about the end of the first mile, and then I just tried to maintain my pace. I also tried to maintain my form during this run, because I have the feeling (completely unfounded and not based on anything but a hunch) that my form is pretty awful. I know for a fact that I have a tendency to run with a "heel-strike" type of footfall. This is something that I have tried to change, because I know that it is not efficient or practical for fast running. I felt pretty good today, and overall I think I'm improving both my speed and my form. My pace was pretty quick today, and overall it didn't feel too bad or overly tiring. I probably could have sustained that pace for a couple more miles if I had to. But as per usual, the last mile I pushed a little more, just because, with no problem. A very good run.
