2 Laps of the Buoys at Kershaw Park in Canandaigua

This was the last of the TRI-CC organized workouts. Basically just an open-water swim with Fleet Feet showing up with rental suits and suits to try out. It was ghastly hot, so I was considering swimming without the wetsuit from the start, but wanted the practice. The water temperature was listed at 77º also, which made me wonder if it was even worth it. I put the wetsuit on anyway. The first lap went pretty well, typical swim at Kershaw. I forgot to start my watch at the beach, so I started it at the end of the line of buoys. I stopped to talk a couple times and I didn't stop the watch, so I figure it evens out. After the first lap I was feeling pretty hot and tired, so I swam back to the beach and took off the suit. Then I jumped back in and swam another lap with just a swim suit on. WOW!! What a difference it makes. I noticed it right off the bat that I was not up as high in the water, nor was it the same feeling pulling my arms through for each stroke. Then I found that I was getting bounced around a lot more in what little waves there were out there. What a difference!!

First lap: 22:30 (back to the beach, with the wetsuit on)

Second lap: 23:45 (back to the beach, no wetsuit this time, just swim shorts)

Sleep: eh (bed at 12:30am, wake at 6:30)

Mood: eh

Physical: legs were a little tired
