Today I wanted to scout out the Black Diamond Duathlon course at Fishers Park in Victor. I figured it would be a nice trail run and provide some recon for the race. Since there isn't any parking at the baseball field where the race will start and finish, I chose to start at the Main Street park entrance. The trail from this parking lot up to the main trail section was pretty rough. It was also kinda swampy, so it made traversing this section really tricky. I didn't like this part much at all. Then it dried out and was much easier to run on when I got towards the mail trail section. The DU course is pretty short at two miles from the baseball field, and one loop of the run from the parking lot where I started was about 1.75, so I chose to do the loop twice. The second time was a bit easier than the first, because I knew the trails a little better by this point. I wasn't paying attention to my HR much at all on this run, but what I did see was some REALLY HIGH numbers. Trail running is definitely harder than roads. So, it ended up being a good run, and a decent park to get some nice trail running in!
