Notes

Well, that was a pleasant surprise. And if it is my only PR in 2019, I'll take it. (though, it looks like I got a few with this run. new 10k PR, what?!)

Have to admit, though, I wasn't expecting this... aiming for anywhere between 1:40 and 1:45 and would have been happy with the higher of the two. I ran in old shoes last week, which caused some tendinitis in the left foot, the same foot struggling with PF. And I've been struggling with depression this past week, not really being my best self or taking care of myself properly.

Last night, I wasn't even sure if it was a good idea to go to this race- it's a 1:40 commute (ha, turns out I ran faster than it took to get there) and I have my eyes on a bigger run less than a month from now. But I figured this morning, well, I have to run the run and there's some nice Berlin Meetup people to chat with before and afterwards, and let's just treat it as a training run.

And then I went out in 7:30, and I felt good, and I kept feeling good. I struggled at the end (fast start, obviously), but when I saw I was on pace for PR, I just fought for it. And I told myself to run without fear... that even if I did end up hurting afterwards, maybe even injuring myself (tomorrow will tell), I could be proud of myself today.

Now, to apply that spirit to other aspects in my life. Onward!

p.s. we ran through a tunnel, which messed up the GPS. I ran an extra hundred yards afterwards to make Strava happy. Official time: 1:35:11, 5th woman, 3rd in my age group

good timing to prepare for the marathon;

readjust with possible issues. Better to run this one slowly and keep things okay for November. Sub 1:45 is the goal for now
