50k training run for Hungryland
Started first half at 7:55mpm average, but something had switched around mile 11, and I tried for a few more miles before backing off to meet the B goal for today. Running 21k at MP is not the best pacing strategy for a 50k, but I'm not unhappy with today's results! I also had the honor of pacing a few 1st time marathoners through some tough miles.
Just wasn't my day for the marathon. Wasn't my worst marathon either though, so meh.
4 hours of sleep (not really terrible considering I got 7 from Fr to Sat), oatmeal, banana, and honey stinger for breakfast.
1st Gu at mile 1.5, a Gu about every 4.5-5 miles after that.
LOTS of water, a good amount of amour whatever it's called drink and gatorade. Very few of the aid stations had properly cold water. Most of it was lukewarm.
73 °F temp, 67 °F dew point at the start, 80 °F/70 °F at 10am.
