Notes
Doubled back in the 800 after steeple. Did 2x10' jog in between + a few "fast" strides and that was IT. Very NOT psyched up for the race, I was very much in a "everything is stupid" mood. It was still windy AF and had gotten cold and we were all freezing waiting around for the race to start. But, I was in a heat w/ Brian + Sprague + MIT steepler + a bunch of sprinters so I figured I would just go compete and see what happened. It was actually a pretty fun race. Paul Chiappetta took it from the gun and after 50m I could tell we were just jogging. Came through 400 in 65/66, feeling breezy of course. Obviously it was time to pick it up and coach told us so, Brian took off like a cannon at 450. I had a lot in me and should have gone right with him but I was a little nervous about pushing into the wind (heavy headwind on the backstretch) so I waited until we were onto the straight before I realized it was obviously now or never, got right on the shoulder of MIT kid in 2nd. Didn't pass him before the curve and then stupidly downshifted rather than staying outside which is obviously an 800 no no. Ran hard to the finish but got nipped at the line by that crafty mfer SHAMS. This was also a stupid race but expectations were so low that it was just kind of a funny joke. Should've ran ~2:09 though.
