Notes

SATs in the morning, so missed practice. Met Eric and Jesse at the track at 1:30 for a workout. Assigned 3 miles of continuous tempoing on the track in a progressive fashion: 6:30, 6:15, 6:00. Ran the first mile in 6:31, a tad slow. The first lap was on pace, but the second two ran slow, forcing a 91 second last quarter to get to 6:31. The second mile we were just slightly fast on every quarter to get to 6:10. On the last mile, we ran 3 perfect 90s and then an 82 second last lap to get 5:52. Eric dropped out on after the second mile due to quad pain. Jesse stuck with it the whole workout, even picking up the pace with me on the final lap.

A good workout. Didn't feel too difficult for the first and second miles, although the last one was tough. Even the last lap, which was the fastest, didn't feel that bad, as I was just thinking about the quote, "Run like hell and get the agony over with." Or something like that. A definite improvement over the 3 mile track tempo with me and Mikey D, where I believe we ran between 19:00 and 19:20 for 4800 m. This is two good workouts on back to back weekends for me.
