GBTC Workout: Ladder of 1600-1200-800-400 and back up, w/ 200m jog between each. Everything @ 10k except 400s at 5k. I hoped to run ~5:30 pace for the 10k stuff and ~75 for the 400s.

Once again, started with the top guys and had to let them go almost immediately. Got too excited in the first rep, ran 5:24 which ended up being too fast and even that with a positive split. The rest of the "down" portion was okay, harder than I would have liked and the 4s were a little slow - basically on my own for everything after the first rep. My stomach started feeling shaky by the bottom of the ladder, so I relieved myself after the second 400. I felt a little better on the 2nd 800 (probably due to the longer rest) but legs started feeling like garbage after that, I chickened out and just did 800 for the 12 and then skipped the last mile. Should have at least finished with 2x800.

Annoyed to have yet another workout that I didn't finish, hard to tell whether I'm being smart or just soft. This one wasn't too much of a surprise though... had a big work lunch today including Tiramisu as the 3rd course which definitely didn't put me in a good place for this. Additionally was probably feeling the mileage bump from the past week (and possibly slight soreness from lift) and it didn't help that I started too fast - I'm already running these workouts alone, so need to rein myself in from rep 1.

Codfish Bowl Saturday as an XC rust buster! Expectations are low... putting the over/under at 28:00, hopefully that's not too aggressive???
